Recall: The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of 2.1 million drop-side cribs made by Stork Craft Manufacturing.
Close to 150,000 of the cribs have the Fisher-Price logo. The recalled cribs date back to 1993.
Parents are urged to immediately stop using the recalled cribs and order a free repair kit.

A Silver Alert has been issued for Bonnie Hodges last seen at a Greyhound Bus Station in Fayetteville. Miss Hodges is believed to be suffering from dementia. She could be traveling toward the Triad. Anyone with information should call Officer Jason Brown at the Vass Police Department at 910-245-4676.

A friend of App State student Jay Derby now faces charges in connection with the 19-year-old’s death. Galen ‘Eli’ Ruble was arrested yesterday and charged with involuntary manslaughter. Derby, a sophomore at ASU, died after being accidentally shot while at an off-campus party at the App South Apartments on Faculty St. early Sunday morning.

A STATE OF EMERGENCY HAS BEEN ISSUED IN PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES AFTER A MASSACRE OF AT LEAST 46 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 12 JOURNALISTS. The attack seems politically motivated.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH PROSTATE CANCER. Johnny Hunt has announced he plans to have surgery in January. According to the Christian Post, the cancer has been discovered at an early stage.

Greensboro Emergency Shelters plan to open early: To deal with the overwhelming need, seven churches are once again partnering with Greensboro Urban Ministry to open Winter Emergency (or WE) shelters, will provide an additional 108 beds for the homeless. More than 4,000 people showed up to meet former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin at her book signing event at Fort Bragg on Monday. Photos on Facebook have cost a Canadian woman her long-term sick leave benefits. Nathalie Blanchard has been on leave from her job at IBM for the last year…after she was diagnosed with major depression. Blanchard was receiving monthly sick-leave benefits. BUT…she lost her benefits when a Insurance Agent discovered pictures of Blanchard having a quote ‘good time’. Blanchard was told by the company’s insurance rep that the photos of Blanchard at her birthday party and on vacation are evidence she's no longer depressed. Blanchard in her defense, was just following doctor's advice, and trying to have fun.
