Deadly accident in Greensboro overnight. It’s been TWO weeks since a 8.9 magnitude earthquake triggered a Tsunami in northeast Japan. The official death toll has risen to over 10,000. An estimated 17,000 people still unaccounted for. New this morning: Japanese authorities are asking residents within 20 miles of the damaged nuclear power plant to evacuate because of dangerously high levels of radiation. Several workers at the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant have been exposed to 10,000 times the amount of radiation than normally allowed.  CNN / Fox News

Local couple gets married at their favorite diner.  Carolyn McHenry and Tim Barnette love Herbie’s Place on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro so much that they decided to get married there on Thursday. Deputies in Cleveland County have filed a ‘suspicious person report’ after a man called police claiming that they saw a creature that resembled Bigfoot. "This thing was 10 feet tall and it had beautiful hair," said Tim Peeler, who was trying to call coyotes but believes he coaxed the Bigfoot looking creature out of the woods instead. FYI: The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization says there have been 57 Bigfoot sightings in North Carolina since 1997, including six in Cleveland County.   www.charlotteobserver.com/
A funeral service will be held today at 2pm at Calvary Baptist in King for Brooke Edwards, the 15 year old Reagan High freshman who died last Friday after she was accidentally hit by a car.

A large wildfire near Camp Lejeune in Onslow County in the eastern portion of the state is forcing evacuations. Officials have declared a state of emergency. The wildfire has covered about 2,000 acres.

NATO HAS AGREED TO TAKE COMMAND OF ENFORCING THE NO-FLY ZONE OVER LIBYA FROM THE US. The handover of the no-fly mission could come as early as this weekend.

First Presbyterian Church on North Main Street in High Point has been approved to be an emergency shelter during natural disasters. The Greater High Point - Davidson Red Cross chapter approved the church to double as a shelter in the downtown area on Thursday.
