Three year old Claire Harris is now helping with the relief efforts in Japan…one magnet at a time. Claire, the adopted daughter of Pastor Ken Harris and wife Kim of Arcadia, saw the news about the Japanese earthquake and tsunami on television two weeks ago. And, she saw people who ‘looked’ like her. (Claire’s birth mother was a Japanese student in the US). At first, Claire wanted to travel to Japan to help, but was told by her parents that it was too far away for a 3-year-old to travel. So Claire and her parents and Claire's great-aunt, Linda Minnich of Pottsville, Pa., came up with the idea of making and selling magnets with a cherry blossom design and the words "Pray for Japan."
You can purchase one of Claire’s magnets for a donation of a dollar, with the money going to missions (ear-marked for Japan). Want a magnet? Contact the Harris family: kwharris@ugbconline.com
