THE SUPREME COURT HAS RULED IN FAVOR OF FREE SPEECH.  In an 8 to 1 ruling, The High Court ruled in favor of the protesters citing the right to free speech. The father of a fallen Marine had filed the legal action against Westboro Baptist Church from Tokeka, Kansas, which has gained national attention for its anti-gay protests at military funerals.  RnR

The fight for free speech in Pakistan.  The President calling the assassination of a high profile Christian politician in Pakistan a "horrific act of violence".   Shahbaz Bhatti was a leading proponent of changing Pakistan's blasphemy laws, which carry the death penalty for insulting Islam.

U.S. AND GERMAN AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING THE FATAL SHOOTING OF TWO U.S. AIRMEN AT THE FRANKFURT AIRPORT.  In addition to the two fatalities, two other U.S. airmen were wounded.  Fox News

LIBYAN WARPLANES HAVE LAUNCHED NEW AIR STRIKES AGAIINST OPPOSITION FORCES TODAY, INCLUING A KEY OIL PORT.  According to witnesses, CNN reports two towns in eastern Libyan were bombed today despite the government's accusations hours earlier that reports of attacks on protesters and military facilities are false. The US Army is altering its fitness tests for the first time in 30 years, in an effort to make sure all soldiers have the strength, endurance and mobility for battle. It is adding exercises like running an obstacle course in full combat gear and dragging a body's weight. An area organic farm has won a national contest. The Teague family, the operators of an 800-acre organic dairy on Reedy Fork Farm in Gibsonville, is getting a $10,000 grand prize from Stonyfield Farm. The Teagues entered the "Grant A Farmer's Wish" contest…wanting to install an energy efficient feed mill to process organic grain for other southeastern dairy farmers. Wimbledon Champion Serena Williams was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after a blood clot was detected on her lungs. Williams had not been playing competitively since winning at Wimbledon in July of last year when she suffered a foot injury.

ACC Men’s Basketball: Both Duke and Carolina winning last night…setting the stage for Saturday’s meeting between the Blue Devils and the Tarheels to decide the ACC regular season title.  Duke vs Carolina @ 8pm Saturday night


The new ACC Hall of Champions is officially open in Greensboro, just in time for the start of the women’s ACC basketball tournament. This week, the ACC Hall of Champions will be open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Admission is $5.
