New jobs coming to the Triad: Pepsi Bottling Company announcing yesterday that it will add 150 jobs to its customer service center in Winston-Salem. The new positions are mostly in sales and require little or no experience. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. (News 14)

Legislators in Raleigh voting to change the state’s cut-off date for children entering kindergarten. Starting in 2009…kids will have to be 5 years old by August 31 in order to start kindergarten that school year. The current cutoff date to enter kindergarten is October 16.

The Senate passed an energy bill Thursday night that will significantly raise gas-mileage standards for cars and trucks for the first time in two decades. The bill now awaits action by the House. (CNN)

The AP is reporting that the Bush administration is nearing a decision to close the infamous Guantanamo Bay detainee facility in Cuba. If closed, Terrorism suspects would be moved to a number of other maximum-security military prisons to face trial. (AP)

The telltale signs are sometimes obvious? Teens staying in their rooms, ignoring friends and family, even food and a shower, while grades plummet and moods change. The culprit isn't alcohol or drugs. It's video games, which for certain kids can be as powerfully addictive as heroin. In a report prepared for the American Medical Association's annual policy meeting starting Saturday in Chicago, the council asks the group to lobby for the disorder to be included in a widely used mental illness manual created and published by the American Psychiatric Association. AMA delegates could vote on the proposal as early as Monday.

Disney Pictures and Walden Media already planning for a third Narnia movie…Michael Apted (who directed the movie ‘Amazing Grace’) will direct "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," the third installment in the series. You may be wondering about the second Narnia movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," will be released in 2008.
"The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" will begin shooting in January and in theaters in May 2009.

-NASCAR…Jeff Gordon will be racing at the road course in Sonoma, California on Sunday. Gordon and wife Ingrid are new parents as of Wednesday…
a baby girl (Ella Sofia Gordon) weighing a little over 7-pounds was born right on time. If the baby had been born any later, Gordon indicated he would have skipped the race on Sunday and stayed with his wife in New York City to witness the birth.
