Andrew Speaker, a 31-year-old lawyer from Atlanta who has made national attention with a rare strain of tuberculosis, has been quarantined and is being treated at a Denver hospital.
Speaker's father-in-law is a microbiologist who studies TB at the CDC. In a strange twist, Speaker's father-in-law, Bob Cooksey, is a CDC microbiologist specializing in the spread of TB and other bacteria.

The 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season will be very active. Forecasters suggesting that there is a 70% chance of a major hurricane making landfall on the U.S. coastline. The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially begins on today and runs through the end of November.

NASA officials saying that the Space shuttle Atlantis has a got the go-ahead for a June 8th launch to resume construction of the International Space Station

Coffee giant Starbucks will replace whole milk with 2% for espresso drinks in all of its U.S. and Canadian stores by the end of the year. But customers can still request their cappuccino with whole milk.

Three former Presidents including Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George Bush, Sr were on hand at a private dedication of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte yesterday. The Billy Graham Library opens to the public next Tuesday. (http://www.bgea.org/)

Thirteen-year-old Evan O'Dorney of Danville, California won the Scripps National Spelling Bee last night. Evin, a homeschooled 8th grader, taking the title, the trophy and the prizes in a competition that he confessed really wasn't his favorite…he loves math!

Traffic :
Silas Creek Parkway is still closed in both directions between Buchanan and Konnoak Streets in Winston-Salem. DOT is repairing all six lanes of Silas Creek Parkway at Buchannan Street after a water main break on Tuesday caused extensive damage to the road.
