Guildford County joining Boone, Blowing Rock and Raleigh currently under Mandatory Water Restrictions. Governor Easley asking that all residents cut their water usage by 20%.

The New York Times is reporting that President Bush has accepted the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Gonzales came under fire for his role in the firing of eight federal prosecutors.

WISCONSIN IS THE LATEST MIDWESTERN STATE TO BE DECLARED A FEDERAL DISASTER AREA BECAUSE OF RECENT FLOODING. Last week Minnesota and Oklahoma were declared federal disaster areas. Other states hit hard by heavy rains and flood waters include Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

DEADLY WILDFIRES IN GREECE ARE MOVING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO OLYMPIA…THE ANCIENT BIRTHPLACE OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES. The fires have claimed 62 lives. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of arson.

A SEVENTH BORE HOLE IS TO BE DRILLED IN HOPES OF FINDING SOME TRACE OF THE SIX TRAPPED MINERS IN UTAH. Federal mining officials say that the sixth hole didn’t provide any helpful information.

Reverend Billy Graham remains hospitalized today…but continues to show progress. The 88 year old evangelist was admitted just over a week ago for intestinal bleeding.

The founder of Coral Ridge Ministries will retire.
Dr D. James Kennedy has not been able to return to the pulpit after a heart attack in late 2006. The announcement was made during the morning worship service yesterday.

Michael Vick will be back in court today: The Atlanta Falcons quarterback is expected to plead guilty to federal charges stemming from a dog fighting ring. The NFL has placed Vick on indefinite suspension.

The Little league team from Warner Robins, Georgia beating Tokyo 3-2
in the Little League World Series. USA dominating the past 3 years…Columbus, Georgia winning in 2006 and the little League team from Hawaii winning in 2005.
