One fatality and 11 others injured yesterday morning after a truck and a church van collided on Highway 601 in Davie County. Norma Shore, a passenger in the van and a volunteer at Charity Baptist Church in Boonville, died in the crash. Norma was one of three adults taking a group of eight teenagers to Fort Caswell, a Baptist retreat center, at Oak Island. In Bangkok, police officers who break the rules (such as being late to work)
will be forced to wear hot pink armbands featuring "Hello Kitty," the Japanese icon of cute, as a mark of shame. The officers won't wear the armband in public.
