Three rescue workers killed and 6 others injured after a disastrous cave-in last night in central Utah. The search for loved ones continues in Peru…
CNN reporting that the death toll is over 500…after a 7.9 magnitude earthquake rocked central Peru on Wednesday night. Most of the damage reported south of the capitol city of Lima. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/americas/08/17/peru.earthquake/index.html

Heat wave continues in the south and mid-west: Over the past 10 days the heat has claimed the lives of more than three dozen people. George and Laura (The President and the first lady) are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jenna Bush, to Mr. Henry Hager. Hager proposed to Jenna on Wednesday in Maine. No date has been set. Hager went to Wake Forest University for his undergraduate studies. He is returning to the University of Virginia in the fall, where he is getting his master's degree in business. (CNN)

About 80% of high school students said they've witnessed the use, sale or possession of illegal drugs on school grounds, or have seen someone who was drunk or high at school.
