MISSION AVIATION FELLOWSHIP REPORTING THAT A SHORTAGE OF AVIATION FUEL HAS GROUNDED A NUMBER OF ITS PLANES. The cost of aviation fuel has led MAF to raise money to purchase 20 Kodiak One Hundred aircraft. They use jet fuel, which is cheaper and more readily available than aviation fuel. Aviation fuel can cost as much as 12 dollars a gallon, while jet fuel runs about three-dollars-and 50 cents a gallon. (MAF)
A junior at Randleman High School was airlifted to Duke Medical Center yesterday afternoon after falling from the second-floor breezeway. The sheriff's department is investigating the incident.

The planned ‘Downtown Center for the Performing Arts’ is being described as a "dramatic new facility”. .It will cover four acres in downtown Winston-Salem, including the historic Sawtooth Center. The 75,000-square-foot facility will have artists' studios and exhibition space.
