Residents in Raleigh can now wash cars and use pressure washers on weekends. Because of the recent rainfall across the state, the Mayor in Raleigh is easing up on water restrictions. Outdoor watering and washing had been banned since February. (News14Carolina)

A funeral-picketing law has been signed into law in Kansas. The new law, which goes into effect next Thursday, states that protesters cannot stand within 150 feet of a funeral one hour before and during or two hours after a service ends. Kansas is the home state of Fred Phelps, whose Westboro Baptist followers regularly protest services for U.S. soldiers killed in combat.

South Dakota has joined 11 other states requiring abortion clinics to give a woman seeking an abortion the opportunity to see an ultrasound of her unborn child and to hear the heartbeat, if possible, before going through with an abortion. Army General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker, the top U.S. diplomat in Iraq are expected to face some tough questions during congressional hearings later today.

The wife of Senator Barack Obama is making three stops in North Carolina today. Michelle Obama will speak at Winston-Salem State University this afternoon…with additional stops in Charlotte and Raleigh.

Police have arrested protesters in San Francisco…the next stop for the Olympic torch. Three people protesting China's human rights record were arrested yesterday after scaling the Golden Gate Bridge with a Tibetan flag and two banners. Anti-Chinese protesters have disrupted the Olympic Torch relay in London and Paris. Officials saying that the relay will go on as planned in San Francisco on Wednesday.
