City Council members in King will hold a public hearing on the Christian Flag debate next Monday evening (Oct. 11) at 6pm at the King Elementary School Gym. At the hearing, the King City Council will present several options on how to deal with the situation. The King City Council voted to remove the Christian Flag on (Sept 16) from the Veterans Memorial after the ACLU threatened a lawsuit . If your goal is to lose fat, get enough sleep. According to a new study, cutting back on sleep reduces the benefits of dieting. Research from a new study, showed that when dieters got adequate sleep (less than 8 hours), half of the weight they lost was fat. When they cut back on their sleep, only one-fourth of their weight loss came from fat. Organizers in Greensboro are moving ahead with a proposed outdoor ice skating rink in downtown Greensboro. Two final-hour sponsorships covered the last amount needed to get the project moving forward. The temporary 40-by-85-foot outdoor ice skating rink will operate from November 17 to January 21, the day before the start of the 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships at the Greensboro Coliseum. Organizers also plan to promote a Piedmont Winterfest, which would include special skate nights and ice hockey.

The US has issued an apology for government-sponsored experiments that deliberately infected hundreds of people in Guatemala with gonorrhea or syphilis back in the 1940s. U.S. Public Health Service researchers experimented on institutionalized mental patients, giving them gonorrhea and syphilis without their knowledge. About one-third of the patients who became infected never received adequate treatment. (MSNBC)
