The Christian flag debate continues in King. Three options are currently on the table after last night’s public hearing. Transferring the Veteran’s Memorial to a private entity such as a veterans’ group was one of the three options that the King City Council presented to hundreds of people attending a public forum last night in King. More than 40 people spoke at the hearing.
City officials are also considering keeping the Christian flag down from the Veteran’s Memorial on public land at the city’s Central Park…or creating a limited public forum that would designate a flag pole to display religious flags recognized by the U.S. military for placement at government markers. Back on (Sept 16), the King City Council voted to remove the Christian Flag a local Veterans Memorial after the ACLU threatened a lawsuit.
