Today is the final day of the 'Kripsy Kreme Drive for 45'. The Company has been raising funds to help send 100 kids with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses to Victory Junction Camp. 31 year old Aaliyah Haqq gave birth to her sixth child in the parking lot of a beauty shop on Walkertown Road on Sunday…after her water broke on the way to the hospital. Aaliyah’s sister, Miranda Colston spotted her car on the side of the road, while on her way to the hospital. "She began to push and I delivered the baby," said Miranda. Mom and baby (and the other 5 children) eventually made it safely to Forsyth Medical Center. Actor Tom Bosley passed away on Tuesday. Bosley died of heart failure and also had been battling lung cancer. We remember Tom Bosley as the father ‘Howard Cunningham’ or Mr C on the 1970s TV hit show Happy Days. Bosley was 83 years old. TV Guide ranked Bosley’s ‘Howard Cuinningham’ character at number 9 on its list of the ’50 Greatest TV Dads of all time” in 2004. (CNN)

The official Woolly Worm forecast from last weekend’s 33rd annual Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk…Thirteen weeks of extreme winter weather for the High Country of North Carolina.

Election Day 2010 is Tuesday, November 2nd. FYI: Back in 2008, 60% of votes in our state were cast before Election Day.

The NFL is cracking down on Big Hits during games…especially illegal hits to players' heads. The NFL fined three players this past weekend for illegal hits.
Those three fines total $175,000 dollars. Suspensions could start this weekend. An NFL vice president says the league is concerned about making the game safe for its players and setting an example for high school and college football teams. (RnR)
