Renfro Corporation will eliminate close to 100 jobs at its Mount Airy sock plant. Renfro has filed for federal assistance for it’s employees.

Kha-lid Shake Mohammed's capture four years ago didn't shut down al Qaeda… but it did slow down possible plans for more terror in the US. In his testimony to a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, Shake Mohammed claimed involvement in over 30 attacks and plots. An intern with the National Archives site in Philadelphia stole about 165 Civil War documents — including the War Department's announcement of President Lincoln's death — and sold most of them on eBay. If you are planning on flying to Florida for your Disney World trip this summer…the trip just got cheaper…Allegiant Air will start shuttling people Greensboro's PTI Airport to Orlando or Tampa /St. Pete by the end of may. Jailers in Rowan County received a surprising ‘Revelation’ addressed to one of their inmates recently. It was a hollowed-out Bible filled with illegal drugs including cocaine and marijuana. The sheriff's office said it's not unusual for people to try to sneak illegal drugs and tobacco into the jail. But, the system for catching the drugs is working.
