One fatality and 19 others injured (4 in critical condition) after a fire at Davie Place Residential Care in Mocksville. The fire happened around 10pm last night.
The injured were sent to area hospitals while others were taken to Hilltop Assisted Living in nearby Davidson County.
A news conference is scheduled for later this morning.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners voted 4-3 in favor of $12.5 million dollars of tax incentives over 25 years for the proposed ballpark in downtown Winston-Salem. Construction on the stadium could start as early as late spring or early summer. (www.journalnow.com)

The commander of Walter Reed Army Medical Center has resigned after major criticism of both him and the treatment of some veterans at the hospital. President Bush has appointed a bipartisan commission to examine conditions at all U.S. military medical treatment facilities.

An update on Franklin Graham’s youngest son, Captain Edward Graham, an Army Ranger, who was injured in Iraq. A Graham spokesman telling the Charlotte Observer that Edward (age 27) got shrapnel in his arms, legs and back…but his injuries are not life threatening. http://www.newsobserver.com/102/story/552371.html

Former President George Bush, Sr. is feeling fine after collapsing on a golf course on Sunday because of getting too much heat. (usaradionews)

Regis Philbin, co-host of "Live with Regis and Kelly," will undergo triple bypass surgery this week. Philbin, who had an angioplasty procedure 14 years ago, is expected to be off the show for at least five weeks. (cnn)

NC-AA Women’s tournament.
