Rescue crews, using dog teams and aircraft with heat-sensing equipment, continued to search for Michael Auberry…the missing 12-year-old boy who disappeared Saturday afternoon while camping with his Boy Scout troop in the Doughton Park area of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Michael is part of Boy Scout Troop 230 based in the Greensboro. The effort is still being called a ‘search-and-rescue’ mission.

Prayer policy passes in one Triad city. The Thomasville City Council voted last night to approve a policy that would allow an invocation (including praying in the name of Jesus) before the city council meetings. The ACLU had sent a letter to the Thomasville City Council prompting the motion. www.journalnow.com

The cost of mailing a letter will go up in May.
The post office governing board will raise rates from 39 to 41 cents for first class mail starting May 14th. Menu Foods -- a major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands – is recalling 60 million containers of wet pet food after reports of pets experiencing kidney failure. 10 animals have died.
