Daylight-saving time happens this weekend: Spring FORWARD
This Saturday night/Sunday morning (March 11) we ‘spring’ forward one hour. Daylight Saving Time will last until November 4.

Business signs (excluding bill boards) around Forsyth County will be shorter, smaller and less flashy under a new ordinance passed by the City County Planning Board. The new sign ordinance will now head to the Winston-Salem City Council and Forsyth County Board of Commissioners for final approval. (journalnow.com)

Due to restructuring, La-Z-Boy incorporated will eliminate close to 300 jobs at 3 of its manufacturing plants in North Carolina. (fox8wghp)

Connecticut lawmakers are close to passing a bill that would require social-networking Web sites such as MySpace to verify users' ages and force minors to obtain parental consent before posting profiles. Up to 20 other states were considering similar legislation.
The pending bill is intended to protect children from sexual predators.

Two Bible classes have been approved by the Georgia Board
of Education for public schools in the Peach State next year. The classes will not be required…but on an elective basis.
The Georgia policy is considered the nation's first to endorse and fund Bible classes on a statewide level. www.usaradionews.com

Madison, Wisconsin, tops Prevention magazine's list of most walkable
U.S. cities. Charlotte coming in at #4. Virginia Beach rounding out the top 10.
Greensboro also made the list at #30. Rankings were based on such factors as air quality, parks, athletic shoes sold and weather. (prevention.com)

The world now has 946 billionaires. And Bill Gates is still the richest. According to Forbes Magazine, there are 4 billionaires that live in North Carolina. Out of the top 20 list…the Wal-mart family and Michael Dell, founder of Dell Computers.
