Ford Motor company is recalling over 37,000 of its new 2008 model-year F-Series Super Duty trucks after reported tailpipe fires in the diesel version of the pickups. http://www.usaradio.com/news_details.php?catid=0&storyid=1006

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards and his wife Elizabeth plan to hold a news conference in their hometown Thursday to discuss her health.
Elizabeth Edwards was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004.
Campaign officials are refusing to answer any questions about what the couple learned at a recent visit to the doctor.

Lawmakers in Raleigh are pushing for a stricter ‘smoking ban’ at businesses and public places across North Carolina. The panel voted 9 - 4 this week in favor of the measure, which would ban smoking in all but a few places -- such as private homes, tobacco shops, and private, nonprofit clubs.
The measure now goes to the full House for consideration.

Since Friday, nearly 100 brands of the "cuts and gravy" style pet food have been recalled by Menu Foods of Canada, including popular labels sold at Wal-Mart, Kroger and other large retailers.
Some of the 60 million cans and pouches of food have been blamed for kidney failure in scores of animals. At least 16 pets have died so far after eating the recalled pet food.
Veterinarians nationwide are being swamped with calls about symptoms both real and imagined. Pet owners with animals showing symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy and extreme thirst are being told to bring them in for immediate examination.

During a hearing before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce,Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, today told former Vice President Al Gore his theories on global warming are not supported by the facts…and if Gore's desires are implemented, there would be no new businesses, cars or even people allowed in the United States. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070322/D8O0TSH00.html
Gore also receiving some ‘heat’ recently about his not so energy efficient home in the Nashville which uses a lot of power.
Last August the former vice president’s two-building property used twice as much electricity as an average U.S. household uses in an entire year.

Deal or No Deal: President Bush holding firm on not letting his top aides testify in public and under oath about the firings of the eight prosecutors.
A House subcommittee has authorized subpoenas for the president’s top political adviser, Karl Rove, and other top White House aides, in connection with the federal prosecutor scandal.

No denim is allowed: Toni Scott, a 14 year old seventh-grader at Redwood Middle School in California to school was sent to an in-school suspension program called ‘Students With Attitude Problems’ last year for violating a dress code at her school. Toni wore socks with the Tigger character from the Winnie the Pooh cartoons on them, along with a denim skirt and a brown shirt with a pink border.
The school's policy requires students to wear clothes with solid colors in blue, white, green, yellow, khaki, gray, brown and black. No denim.
A lawsuit was filed earlier this week in Napa County Superior Court by ACLU on the girl's behalf, alleging that the dress code is unconstitutional.

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament continues tonight with four Sweet 16 games.
-UNC will play USC on Friday (at the Meadowlands) (the only ACC team left in the NCAA Tournament)
The tournament shifts to Atlanta for the Final Four next week.
