No survivors in the crash of Continental Flight 3407 near Buffalo, New York last night. All 48 people on board the plane, as well as one person on the ground were killed. The plane was on its way from Newark, New Jersey, to Buffalo Niagara International Airport. An investigation is underway.

Investigators with the NTSB have confirmed that Canada geese got into both engines of US Airways Flight 1549 and forced the plane to make an emergency landing into the Hudson River last month. www.cnn.com/2009/US/02/12/hudson.plane.geese/index.html

College tuition will likely go up for in-state undergraduate students at public universities. The UNC system Board of Governors will likely raise tuition and fees by 3.9%. www.charlotteobserver.com/breaking/story/534218.html

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board being told that more than 1,200 jobs may have to be cut. School superintendent Peter Gorman telling the board that the system faces a shortage of $85 million to $100 million dollars.

Two Triad TV stations will make the switch to digital next week. WXLV (ABC - 45) and WMYV (MyNetwork - 48) will go digital next Tuesday. The switch to digital will not affect you if you have cable or satellite. Across North Carolina, 13 of the 50 TV stations will make the switch next week. The rest will wait to the extended transition date of June 12th.

Top-40 radio station WKZL-FM has stopped playing music by singer Chris Brown, after he was arrested on an alleged domestic dispute over the weekend. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has sent its Rapid Response Team to assist victims of the Australian wildfires. The fires in the state of Victoria have claimed nearly 200 lives.

Another member of the secular metal band Korn says that he has accepted Christ. According to an upcoming autobiography, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu came to faith in Christ following the death of his father from a mysterious illness. It was the dying wish of his father that ‘Fieldy” would come to faith in Christ. Fieldy's dad was a born again Christian. It was about five years ago that Korn's lead guitarist, Brian Welch, accepted Christ. Reginald Arvizu's forthcoming book "Got the Life: My Journey of Addiction, Faith, Recovery, and Korn" is set to be released on March 10th.
