Today is Groundhog Day. In Pennsylvania…Punxsutawney Phil DID see his shadow this morning! Legend has it that we'll have six more weeks of winter weather. Phil has seen his shadow since the year 2000.
Our own Kerners Folly Lydia (Tami’s family guinea pig) also saw her shadow this morning. So, more winter weather on the way.

Groundhog Trivia: Groundhog and woodchuck are names of the same animal.
Groundhogs are related to squirrels. They can climb trees and swim.

THE U.S. OLYMPIC COMMITTEE SAYS IT IS DISAPPOINTED IN RECENT BEHAVIOR BY GOLD METALIST MICHAEL PHELPS. Phelps has embarrassed himself again after getting his picture snapped while smoking a marijuana pipe. The photo wound up in a British tabloid on Sunday. Phelps won a record eight gold medals at the Beijing Games last year.

National Guard troops are going door to door checking on families in parts of Kentucky. At least seven deaths have been blamed on a severe winter ice storm that has paralyzed most of Western Kentucky fro close to a week. Police arresting 73 people in Randolph County on Saturday in the largest cockfighting bust in that county’s history. Animal control officers seized 130 roosters used in the fights. Cockfighting carries a felony charge and a maximum 10-year sentence in North Carolina. The practice is illegal in 48 states. FORMER "AMERICAN IDOL" CONTESTANT PHIL STACEY HAS SIGNED WITH REUNION RECORDS…a division of the Provident Label Group. Producing Phil's new album is CCM veteran producer Brown Bannister. The new project is expected to be released sometime this summer.
FYI: Phil recently completed his four-year commitment to the U.S. Navy and is still in the Navy Reserves. He holds a degree in vocal performance from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Phil lives in Nashville with his wife Kendra and two daughters.

SPORTS:
The Steelers winning their 6th Super Bowl title last night. The Steelers scored with 35 seconds left in last night’s game to beat the Arizona Cardinals 27 to 23 in Super Bowl 43.
FYI: Schools in Pittsburgh opened 2 hours late this morning.
