Wind Advisory: Stokes, Davie, Yadkin and Rowan
High Wind Warning: Tonight through Thursday for Surry and Wilkes
A strong cold front is making its way to North Carolina. A line of showers and maybe a few thunderstorms will move through the area this evening. Expect widespread wind gusts from 30 to 60 mph.

UPDATED: Rescue crews are continuing their search for survivors after a tornado ripped through Edmond, Oklahoma yesterday. Edmond is about 100 miles south of Oklahoma City. The death toll is now at 15. Severe weather blamed on damage and power outages in Oklahoma City and western Texas. The cost of mailing a letter is going up. First-class postage will increase 2 cents to 44 cents, starting May 11th. The Postal Service said the price increase was necessary because of rising production costs. Until the new prices go into effect, customers can buy "Forever Stamps" at the current 42-cent rate.

The CEOs of eight banks that received billions from the government's Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) will appear before lawmakers on Capitol Hill today. The executives will likely face tough questions over what they have actually done with the money.

A 10 year old Sussex Spaniel called Stump became the oldest Best in Show winner at the Westminster Kennel Club last night. In human years, Stump is almost 70 years old! FYI: Actually, Stump barely made it past age 5. Stump left the dog show circuit in 2004 and later nearly died from a mysterious medical condition. One of the two suspects from Monday’s bank robbery, high speed chase and gunfight with police has died.Di-mark-chrisy Majors died late Monday night at Moses Cone Hospital.

A former employee has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a Brinks security driver at the Old Navy store at the Friendly Center in Greensboro.

Workers at the PetSmart in Rossfield, Ohio are used to worried pet owners bringing their animals in to be treated in the store's clinic.
But a surprise visit by a deer to the local PetSmart on Saturday was a first for the staff. Manager Trudi Urie telling reporters that a wounded doe was hanging out behind the store…and then ran through an open door into a stockroom. Read more:
