Dove nominations have been announced. Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, Third Day, TobyMac and Chris Tomlin have been nominated for Artist of the Year by the Gospel Music Association. The rags-to-riches drama "Slumdog Millionaire" captured eight Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director at the 81st annual Academy Awards in Hollywood last night. "WALL-E" winning for ‘Best Animated Feature’. ‘Best Supporting Actor’ nods going to the late Heath Ledger for his role as the Joker in "The Dark Knight." Heath Ledger's Oscar was accepted on his behalf by his father, Kim Ledger; mother, Sally Bell, and sister, Kate Ledger, who flew in from the actor's native Australia for the ceremony.

NASA HAS INDEFINITELY POSTPONED THE LAUNCH OF SPACE SHUTTLE DISCOVERY. Engineers are still trying to determine why a fuel control valve was damaged during Endeavour's mission last November.

THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY WILL BE THE FOCUS OF A MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT OBAMA AND MANY OF THE NATION'S GOVERNORS TODAY. The president will hear from governors who support and governors who dislike his recently enacted 787 billion dollar economic stimulus package. A handful of Republican governors are expected to refuse at least some of the federal stimulus money that’s been set aside for their state.

The Guilford County school system will hold a "Kickoff to Kindergarten Parent Day" at the Greensboro Children's Museum today. The free event will run from 11am to 1pm and 5 to 7pm (today).
