The Homeschool legal defense Association is not happy with proposed legislation in New Hampshire. According to the group, the measure would be one of the most restrictive homeschool laws in the nation…giving ‘subjective’ authority to a superintendent or non-public school principle to terminate a family's homeschool program. And an increase in testing and reporting requirements. The Home School Legal Defense Association says New Hampshire already requires parents to provide annual assessments. www.hslda.org/default.asp?bhcp=1

During the National Prayer Breakfast this morning, President Barack Obama commented that faith too often has been used "as a tool to divide us from one another. There is no religion in the world that is based on hatred." Obama, in prepared remarks, said, "There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being." Obama is also telling the gathering that the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships won't favor any religious group, or favor religious groups over secular groups. He says it will help organizations that want to "work on behalf of our communities," without "blurring the line" between church and state.
