The state Board of Community Colleges' policy committee is considering a new policy that would allow illegal immigrants into community colleges if they graduated from a U.S. high school in North Carolina. A vote by the full community colleges board could come Friday.

Mary Travers a member of the 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died. Travers died from side effects of treatment from a bone-marrow transplant after battling leukemia. She was 72.

FYI: A Memorial service for Christopher Raynor of Raleigh will be held this evening (September 17th) at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh. A graveside service to be held Friday at 11am at Raleigh Memorial Park. Raynor died last Saturday morning after being ejected from the car he was riding in.
