Amber Alert: Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for two girls missing from Iredell County. The Iredell County Sheriff's Department are trying to locate two sisters, 12-year-old Keara and 11-yar-old Sierra Hess, who disappeared last week with their step-father Matthew Hess. Keara is 9-months pregnant. The sheriff's office said Matthew Hess is driving a green 1993 Ford Explorer. It has a NC tag YTE-8014. If you drive a Toyota or Lexus, remove the driver's side floor mats. That’s the word from Toyota. The mats could cause the accelerator to stick. Update: A powerful 8.0 earthquake in the South Pacific setting off a massive tsunami at the shores of Samoa and American Samoa, flattening villages and sweeping cars and people out to sea…the death toll has been elevated to over a 100…dozens more are still missing. A Federal Appeals Court has thrown out a $5 million dollar lawsuit against the controversial Westboro Baptist Church whose members are known for picketing the funerals of American service men and women…while holding inflammatory signs. In 2007, a Maryland jury awarded the family of a U.S. Marine ten million dollars in damages, after the family sued Westboro Baptist based in Topeka, Kansas. . A judge later reduced the amount to five million. But late last week, a three-judge panel of the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the church should not pay any award in the case. The judges wrote that while the church's signs were, what they called, "distasteful and repugnant" they were still protected free speech. Westboro Baptist Church has about 60 or 70 members. Nearly 50 of them are children, grandchildren, or in-laws of founding Pastor Fred Phelps.
