Focus on the Family has announced a reorganization Wednesday that will eliminate 75 jobs. Focus has cut its workforce twice since September 2008. The Colorado Springs-based ministry is shutting down the creative division of its advertising department and including Love Won Out, a program aimed at homosexuals that Focus is handing over to an organization in Florida.

PRESIDENT OBAMA will deliver a back-to-school speech to public school students around noon eastern today. The White House released the text to President Obama’s back-to-school speech yesterday. The White House says the speech simply encourages students to stay in school and work hard in their studies. The Department of Education is encouraging students to write about their own short-term and long-term education goals.

The crew aboard Space Shuttle Discovery will pull away from the international space station later this afternoon. The shuttle will bring home seven astronauts and a Buzz Lightyear doll that was carried into space last year.

The Winston-Salem Dash beat Myrtle Beach (7 - 2) in the last game of the regular season last night. Good finish for the Dash: they finished the regular season with a 73-65 record and tied for first place in the second-half with Salem. The Dash won the first-half title outright by going 38-30.
