After a 10 month odyssey, construction on the new Downtown Baseball Stadium will likely resume by the end of the week. The developer of Winston-Salem Dash stadium, Billy Prim, says financing arrangements for the ballpark are now complete. Winston-Salem city leaders discussed the ballpark at Monday night's city council meeting. In exchange for the city's additional financial involvement, the city will own the stadium and lease it back to Prim. The Dash stadium should be complete by March and be ready for baseball season in April.

Reminder: Parents of sixth-graders have until Friday to get your children updated with the T-Dap vaccination. State law (which took effect last year) requires every sixth-grader entering school after August 1st or any student who turned 12 on or after that date, to receive a T-dap booster. FYI: There is an exception for parents who cite religious beliefs for not vaccinating their child. http://www.news-record.com/content/2009/09/20/article/sixth_graders_have_till_friday_to_get_booster

You may call this new fashion a ‘Tie-Pod’. British Men’s clothing designer ‘Thomas Pink’ has introduced a necktie with a special pocket for an I-Pod or mp3 player. The new high tech tie has a small pocket and an extra loop stitched onto the back of the tie to hold an iPod or similar device and to harness the wire for its earbuds. Price?

Police, fire and EMS workers responded to a report yesterday afternoon of a woman lying face down on top of a billboard near the intersection of MLK and North Trade Street in Winston-Salem. Well, the sleeping "woman" was actually a mannequin placed there to promote an art exhibit. No one was charged in the incident.
