Sixteen students suffered minor injuries yesterday when their school bus swerved to avoid an on-coming vehicle then slid off into a ditch. The accident happened on Old Liberty Road in Randolph County. School system officials said the bus was from Gray's Chapel Elementary school. Efforts to shut down the oil well that is spewing crude into the Gulf have been unsuccessful. Portions of that oil slick are already making its way onto the shoreline of Louisiana this morning. The oil slick is roughly 120-miles wide. Taking ‘pay TV’ out of the family budget. In one recent nationwide survey, one in eight consumers say that they plan on eliminating or scaling back their cable or satellite service this year. The study (conducted by the Yankee Group) of pay-TV operators and more than 6,000 U.S. consumers, found that many of us will choose to drop premium channels or cut their service down to a basic package, while others will choose to cut off their service completely.
