First there was Cash for Clunkers. Now there's Cash for Appliances?
Starting today, which is Earth Day, you can get a 15% instant rebate when you replace your old appliances with Energy Star-rated refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers and dishwashers. The state's “appliance replacement and rebate program” will run through Sunday -- or until the pool of rebate money runs out. BTW: Consumers will be required to replace an existing appliance of the same type purchased to qualify for the rebate.
