Early voting for the May 4th primaries starts today and runs through May 1st.

Today is the final day that State Emergency Management officials will be in the Triad to assist area storm victims with loan or grant applications. The loans and grants are available to help victims pay for home repairs caused by the tornadoes on March 28.

Elizabeth’s Pizza locations and several Italian restaurants will be closed today due to a family death. Ciro Antonio Errichiello (age 52), owner of Elizabeth's Pizza at Quaker Village, passed away on Tuesday. In observance, Elizabeth's Pizza locations in Greensboro, Oak Ridge and at Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, along with Positano Italian Family Restaurant and Pizzeria in Greensboro and Amalfi's Italian Restaurant in Kernersville will be closed today (April 15). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. this morning at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. After three days, officials have decided to scale back ‘search’ operations for the 5-year-old boy who fell into the Dan River Monday afternoon and was pulled under by strong currents. According to Danville Police, 5 year old Kolton Karnes was fishing with his father when their boat capsized, tossing the boy into the water.

"Just an accident." Criminal charges are unlikely for the family of a 2-year-old in Asheboro that was hit by a car on Saturday evening according to the Asheboro Police Department. The two-year-old was with an older sibling and was holding his hand right before the accident. The two-year-old let go of the sibling's hand and ran into oncoming traffic and was struck by a car.

Volcanic ash erupting from a volcano in Iceland has drifted over to Britain where it has forced authorities to close several airports and cancel flights. More than 150 flights at London's Heathrow Airport and hundreds more across England have been canceled this morning. There were also no flights going in or out of Scotland or Northern Ireland. The Death Toll has risen to 600 from the 6.9 magnitude Earthquake in the Tibetian area of China. Chinese media saying more than 85% of houses have collapsed in one town in Qinghai Provence.

SPORTS: Wake Forest University has officially named Jeff Bzdelik as their new men’s basketball coach.

The Winston-Salem Dash get their FIRST win at the new Ballpark. The Dash 13 – 4 over the Potomac Nationals last night. The Dash at home again tonight (at 7pm)…home games through Sunday.

Kasey Kahne has completed a deal to drive for Hendrick Motorsports in 2012, but it's not clear where Kahne will drive in 2011.
