Some Greensboro restaurant owners along Randleman Road say that street vendors selling food are hurting their business. The Guilford Health Department stating that street vendors only need a letter from a non-profit organization saying their sales are for fundraising or a permit to sell food. Vendors do not have to be inspected like restaurants do. The health department says food vendors are regulated at an event like a fair, with an exception being vendors for non-profits. 30 restaurant owners along Randleman Road have signed a petition urging the health department to change its rules. An estimated 60 tornadoes hitting parts of North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa last night leaving at least two people dead . The deaths were reported in the northwestern Minnesota. (TWC)

The State Senate could vote as early as Monday to ban sweepstakes cafes that feature video gambling machines. This could cause problems for the City of Winston-Salem, which already factored fees from the internet gaming centers into their budget. (WGHP)

B-P CEO Tony Hayward getting ‘grilled’ yesterday on Capitol Hill. Legislators accusing the BP chief of ‘evasiveness’, in his lack of answers regarding the massive oil spill in the Gulf.
Also getting a slap on the wrist, Congressman Joe Barton. Barton was forced to retract his ‘apology’ to BP CEO Tony Hayward. During yesterday's hearing, Barton accused the Obama Administration of shaking down B-P to create a slush fund. Republican leaders threatened to remove Barton from his position as ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. (RnR CNN)

THE FCC HAS MOVED CLOSER TO BOOSTING ITS AUTHORITY OVER BROADBAND PROVIDERS. The commission voted three to two to open an inquiry into how the industry is regulated. That's the first step toward giving the agency the authority to police broadband service providers such as Comcast, Verizon and A-T-and-T. (RnR)

Convicted killer Ronnie Lee Gardner was executed early this morning…by firing squad. Gardner was the third person to die by firing squad, all in Utah, since the Supreme Court restored the death penalty in 1976. (RnR)
