A peaceful protest turns nasty in Greensboro. Around 25 people were protesting in front of Representative Mel Watt's Greensboro office on Tuesday. Nathan Tabor, a local business owner and head of the Forsyth County Republican Party, says they were protesting a proposed amendment that would give companies money to help with rising credit card fees. Tabor was videotaping the event when a man, Govenor Spencer of Greensboro, approached the protest. "About that time a gentleman walks around the corner and walks into the middle of the crowd saying it's all George W. Bush's fault. It's all Dick Cheney's fault." Tabor said.
Spencer ended up pushing Tabor’s wife and then Tabor pushed the man back. A video shows Spencer then hitting Tabor in the face and other people calling for police. Tabor has filed assault charges against Spencer and Spencer has filed charges against Tabor.

A ‘suspicious’ package mailed to the U.S. Census Bureau in Asheboro caused quite a ‘scare’ Wednesday morning. Asheboro police closed down a stretch of South Fayetteville Street yesterday morning and evacuated the Hillside Shopping Center strip mall after an employee at the bureau thought the package was out-of-the-ordinary. The Greensboro Bomb Squad was then called in, and a mechanized robot removed and opened the package…finding only books inside. Asheboro police Capt. Jim Smith called the entire incident a "false alarm."
