RECALL: Kellogg has issued a voluntary recall on 28 million boxes of cereal including Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Fruit Loops and Apple Jacks. Kellogg posting that the cereal box liners have an "uncharacteristic off-flavor and smell" Affected boxes have the letters "KN" printed before expiration dates.

Tropical Storm Alex back in the warm waters of the Gulf. Alex could reach hurricane strength later today and make landfall along the Texas – Mexico border later in the week. Forecasting models suggest that Alex should track far west of Louisiana and the Gulf oil spill. (TWC)
A Greensboro girl was bitten by a shark at Topsail Island on Friday. 13 year old Carley Schlentz, of Greensboro, was swimming with friends Friday afternoon when she bitten by a shark twice near the top of her left foot. She was taken to Cape Fear Hospital where she received 60 stitches. Carley is taking antibiotics and will be on crutches for two weeks while the wounds heal. (Fox news)

Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia passed away early this morning. Byrd was 92. Byrd became the longest serving congressional member in history last November. Byrd said that his greatest mistake was joining the Ku Klux Klan in the 1940s.

Only death and taxes are certain, right? Not necessarily in one small North Carolina town. Hemby Bridge just southeast of Charlotte has voted to do away with property taxes. Mayor Kevin Pressley suggested the idea to help the town's 1,500 residents during the recession. The typical homeowner saves only about $50, and residents still must pay county property taxes. The town will rely on state revenue and utility franchise fees. The North Carolina Revenue Department says Hemby Bridge joins nearly 20 other cities with no property taxes. (The Charlotte Observer)
