An autopsy confirming that actress Natasha Richardson died from bleeding in her skull caused by the fall she took on a ski slope earlier in the week. The jobless rate goes above 10% in the Triad. All 100 counties in North Carolina experienced a jobless rate increase during January.

Two Russian military planes ‘buzzing’ a little too close to U.S. Navy ships in the Sea of Japan earlier in the week. The ships were participated in a joint military exercise with South Korea. Two Russian ‘Mays’ flew about 500 feet over one of the US Navy ships. President Barack Obama might have rolled a gutter ball on NBC's "The Tonight Show." Toward the end of the interview on Thursday, The President telling host Jay Leno he's been practicing at the White House's bowling alley but wasn't happy with his score of 129. Obama saying that the score “was like the Special Olympics or something," which prompted laughter from the audience.

A spider that was found in a Tulsa, Oklahoma grocery store may not have been as deadly as originally thought. The spider found in a shipment of bananas at Whole Foods was taken Sunday to the University of Tulsa, where animal facilities manager Terry Childs identified it as a Brazilian wandering spider, considered one of the most lethal in the world.

Officers in High Point arrested 12 people in connection with the ‘break- in’ of more than 60 homes and cars in several High Point neighborhoods. One suspect charged is currently serving in the Army at Fort Bragg. The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system will get money from the federal economic-stimulus package much earlier than expected. Around $23 million dollars will be used for high-poverty schools and students with disabilities.
