The investigation continues in the shooting death of a pastor in Maryville, Illinois. Pastor Fred Winters was shot and killed during the 8am early service yesterday morning. Several members of the congregation tackled the gunman after his pistol jammed. Maryville is in southern Illinois, near St. Louis, Missouri. (RnR)

PRESIDENT OBAMA IS EXPECTED TO OVERTURN FORMER PRESIDENT GEROGE W BUSH'S EXECUTIVE ORDER TODAY CLEARING THE WAY FOR FEDERALLY FUNDED EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH. Conservative leaders are urging the President not to rescend the order. "Taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for experiments that require the destruction of human life," said Tony Perkins of the conservative Family Research Council. "President Obama's policy change is especially troubling given the significant adult stem cell advances that are being used to treat patients now without harming or destroying human embryos." There are different types of stem cells: So-called adult stem cells that produce a specific type of tissue; younger stem cells found floating in amniotic fluid or the placenta.

The N.C. DOT is canceling plans for improvements to Business 220 after receiving negative citizen feedback.
