After 22 years on the road with the Newsboys, Peter Furler is stepping down as lead singer of the group. Peter will continue writing and producing for the band…focusing on the Newsboys' studio career and spending time in his own bed after many years in a tour bus. Michael Tait (formerly of dcTalk) will replace Peter as the new lead singer of the Newsboys.

The wife of Stryper co-founder Michael Sweet lost her battle with cancer last week. Kyle Rae Sweet was diagnosed with cancer back in February of 2007; she passed away last Thursday evening. A fund has been established to receive donations for the children's college education.

Emergency managers say social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are radically changing the way disaster situations are handled. Dr. Jeannette Sutton of Colorado University Boulder’s Natural Disaster Center said that her research showed that Web-savvy people are all "a-Twitter" when disasters strike.
