Spring Military Blood Drive on Tuesday: The mobile blood unit from Fort Bragg will be collecting blood for the troops.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 24) from 7:30 am to 5pm at the National Guard Armory on Silas Creek Parkway (near Forsyth Tech) in Winston-Salem.
FYI: 99% of the blood donated through this program is sent to help troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

INVESTIGATORS WITH THE FAA ARE ONCE AGAIN ON THE SCENE OF A DEADLY PLANE CRASH IN BUTTE, MONTANA. Sunday's crash of a private plane claimed the lives of 14 people, seven of whom were children. The plane crashed in a cemetery about five-hundred feet short of a local airport runway.

A FEDEX cargo plane crash landed near Tokyo last night. Both pilots were killed in the crash. Strong wind shears may have played a part in the crash. The accident has caused widespread flight disruptions at Japan's largest international airport. Pirates attacking a Japanese cargo ship off the coast of Somalia on Sunday. There were no injuries. In 2008, pirates attacked nearly 100 vessels and hijacked as many as 40 off Somalia.

Cell phone ban at one Christian school: Beginning Tuesday, Fayetteville Christian School will be confiscating cell phones from students at the start of the day…after several students were caught texting test answers.In an e-mail to parents, cell phones will be placed into plastic food bags marked with their name at the start of the school day. Then, returned at the end of te day.
Violators will get a $25 dollar fine and a Saturday ‘work day’ at the school.
