Weekend Traffic Up-date (Greensboro)
Water Main Repairs going on this weekend (again) along West Wendover Avenue between Latham and Magnolia. Two eastbound lanes will be closed…a detour will be in place.


A UNC-G student has tested positive for the H1N1 (or Swine Flu). This is the first confirmed case of Swine Flu in Guilford and the 35 confirmed case in NC.

Trash Mistaken for Air France Plane Debris
Officials in Brazil telling reporters that debris collected yesterday near the supposed crash site of Air France Flight 447 was not from the plane. Also…oil slicks seen in the Atlantic Ocean were not from the plane, either. The Airbus 330 disappeared from radar during a trans-Atlantic flight from Brazil to France early Monday morning. http://www.voanews.com/english/2009-06-05-voa7.cfm

Germany is the latest stop on President Obama’s overseas travel. On Saturday, the President joins other world leaders in France to mark the 65th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy…the military operation that helped to turn the tide in World War II.

ORGANIZERS SAY NEARLY 150 THOUSAND PEOPLE ATTENDED A CANDLE-LIGHT VIGIL YESTERDAY IN HONG KONG MARKING THE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE TIANANMEN SQUARE MASSACRE. Tiananmen Square is in Beijing, on mainland China, but the bloody crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators is not acknowledged by the Chinese government.

What, No Eye Glasses? A NEW PROCEDURE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NEARSIGHTED IS GETTING RAVE REVIEWS. The new procedure involves implanting a plastic lens in front of the patient's natural lens. According to the latest Census Bureau information: North Carolina lags behind most other states in Internet access. North Carolina ranked 41st among the 50 states in home Internet access.
Nationwide, 82% of the households that had Internet access had a broadband connection. Only 17% used a dial-up connection.

You might say that singer-songwriter (and worship leader) Matt Maher received an out-of-this-world honor recently. Astronaut Mike Good took Maher’s latest CD “Empty and Beautiful” as a ‘carry-on’ item aboard the latest space shuttle mission.
In an e-mail to Matt upon his return to Earth, Mike Good said, quote, "I wanted you to know that I was praying for you and your band while orbiting above God’s beautiful creation." Astronaut Good also told Matt that he listening to Matt and his band his iPod while orbiting Earth.
