The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for most of northwest North Carolina through Friday morning
A ‘Watch’ means there is a potential for Flooding or Flash Flooding based on the current forecast

Storm update in Greensboro: Portions of east and northeast Greensboro were hit by flash flooding in a short period of time on Wednesday. Greensboro Police saying that all roads are now open across the city.-Greensboro Fire and Rescue crews responded to 115 ‘emergency’ calls from 4:30 pm to 9:30pm. Thirty of those calls involved vehicles stranded in water.

One fatality associated with the Flash Flooding last night. The Highway Patrol says a woman who had been rescued from an overflowing creek near Northeast Middle School (around the 6700 block of McLeansville Road) in Greensboro drowned after she jumped back into the creek. The woman's body was later recovered.

Lots of residents are ‘dumping’ their old ‘analog’ televisions. The June 12 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting has many people getting rid of old TV sets…after they upgrade to digital or high definition sets. Old TVs are the main item being dropped off at the hazardous waste station on Patterson Street in Greensboro. That e-cycle dropp-off location is open Wednesdays through Saturdays. The city of High Point will collect household waste items such as tires, oil, appliances and electronics on Saturday, June 20 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.…at the High Point transportation terminal located on west Broad Avenue.
