Winston-Salem has been picked as one of the Top 20 places in the nation to ‘Start Over’. BusinessWeek ranked the Winston-Salem metropolitan statistical area at #7 among the nation's "top 20 best places to start over." The MSA consists of Davie, Forsyth, Stokes and Yadkin counties. Topping the list: Anchorage, Alaska

Officials with Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute in Memphis, has confirmed that Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, did indeed receive a liver transplant. The 54 year old CEO is recovering and has an excellent prognosis. Back in January, Jobs announced that he would be taking a medical leave of absence from his work at Apple until the end of June.

United Guaranty, the troubled mortgage insurer based in Greensboro, is laying off 160 workers, most of them in North Carolina. The company declined to say how many of the job cuts would be at its headquarters on North Elm Street, where about 500 people work. United Guaranty is a subsidiary of AIG.

Officials at the financially strapped YWCA in Greensboro saying that they plan to sell their downtown building. They will lease a smaller space, cut staff and serve fewer children.

A ‘Relief Fund’ has been set up for the survivors and the families who lost loved ones in Monday’s deadly Metro commuter train crash in DC. Nine people were killed in the collision.
It was the deadliest accident in the DC Metrorail's 33-year history.

The State Department is continuing to work on the release of two US journalists still in prison in North Korea. The two journalists were arrested near the North Korean-Chinese border on March 17th, while filming a documentary. Earlier this month, they were convicted of crossing illegally into North Korea and sentenced to 12 years in a labor camp

Do Tattoos increase the risk of skin cancer? As more Americans tattoo their bodies, some have wondered whether there may be a hidden risk -- other than the risk of regretting the tattoo later. Many inks are made with metals; blue, for example, contains cobalt and aluminum, and red may contain mercury sulfide. That, along with the fact that tattooing can be traumatizing to the skin, prompted suspicion that tattoos might lead to skin cancer.
