You’re power bill could be going up. Duke Energy asked the N.C. Utilities Commission for a 13% increase in its base rates. If approved, the increase would take effect no sooner than January 1st. FYI: Duke Energy’s rates in North Carolina are 31% below the national average and about 24% below other utilities in the Southeast.
