Late night comedian David Letterman, has responded to criticism regarding his recent joke about Sarah Palin's daughter…crossed the line. Letterman said on his show Wednesday night he is guilty of "poor taste." THE U.S. SENATE HAS PASSED A MEASURE THAT WOULD GIVE THE FDA MUCH MORE AUTHORITY TO REGULATE TOBACCO PRODUCTS. The bill allows the FDA to limit the amount of nicotine in cigarettes and require stronger package warnings. The legislation now goes to the House. The President has indicated he is ready to sign the measure. (RnR)

The World Health Organization has declared the H1N1 Virus (or Swine Flu) an international pandemic. To date, nearly 30 thousand confirmed cases have been reported in 74 countries, with 144 fatalities. (RnR) Six more cases of Swine Flu were confirmed in the Piedmont on Thursday. FYI: This is the first time since 1968 that an international pandemic has been declared.

An Olympic gold medalist from South Korea has sponsored Compassion International’s one millionth child. The sponsor…Jang Mi-Ran, won the gold medal in weightlifting for her country, South Korea, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The sponsored child…Fellow Kpodo is a shy 8-year-old boy. Dr Robert Schuller has announced that his daughter will take over leadership of the Crystal Cathedral and the ‘Hour of Power’ television ministry. Late last year, Schuller and his son Robert, had a public parting of the ways over the future direction of the ministry.
