UPDATE: Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) - Wendover campus is on a 2-hour delay this morning. Water problems developed over the weekend. Officials decided to delay classes until 10 a.m. so crews would have time to clean up. http://www.gtcc.edu/

New this morning: An emergency meeting of the NC State University board of trustees has been called to consider a severance package for the official who hired Mary Easley, the wife of former Governor Mike Easley. Former provost Larry Nielsen resigned last month.

A CALIFORNIA PASTOR THREATENED WITH FINES IF HE HELD BIBLE STUDIES IN HIS HOME WITHOUT A PERMIT HAS WON A LEGAL FIGHT. San Diego County has rescinded its citation and apologized to David Jones. He and his wife had been warned that they could be fined $1 hundred to $1 thousand dollars if they held religious assemblies without a major use permit. Their attorney argued that the Jones' constitutional rights were being violated. RnR

Two U.S. journalists detained in North Korea have been sentenced to 12 years in prison. The Central Court of North Korea sentenced Laura Ling and Euna Lee for an ‘illegal border crossing.’ The two reporters were covering the plight of defectors living along the China-North Korea border. More bodies and debris were found Sunday near where an Air France jetliner with 228 people on board crashed into the Atlantic last week. According to reports from Brazilian and French military officials…17 bodies have been recovered so far. The US NAVY is contributing high-tech audio devices to help in the search for the plane's emergency beacons

The mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin, his wife and a member of his security detail has been quarantined in China after possible exposure to the H1N1 virus.
