The water in your tap is more rigorously regulated than the bottled water you buy in a store. According to a General Accounting Office report delivered to Congress on Wednesday, EPA rules governing tap water are more thorough and require more disclosure than the FDA rules that govern bottled water. You’ve probably heard of the Monday morning blues. A new study shows that Americans are most likely to commit suicide on Wednesdays.In a five-year study, nearly 25% of suicides take place on Wednesdays, followed by Mondays then Saturdays. Cut calories…live longer? Cutting daily calorie intake by 30% may put the brakes on the aging process. According to a new 20-year study of monkeys, carefully cutting calories have beneficial effects on the brain and could result in a longer life span. The study published in the journal Science.

The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra will be able to keep two of its full-time staff jobs, thanks to $50,000 in federal stimulus money. The symphony is among seven non-profit arts organizations in North Carolina that will receive grants totaling $325,000 dollars through the National Endowment for the Arts.

What? The presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church stating that it's "heresy" to believe that an individual can be saved through a sinner's prayer of repentance. Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori made her comments at the opening of the Episcopal Church's General Conference in California. She described the belief in individual salvation as the, quote, "great Western heresy." -In recent years, many congregations and dioceses have left the Episcopal Church because of its increasingly liberal theology and policies.
