Thanks to Eric Gabriel (ABC 45) for stopping by and sharing about this unique opportunity to bless someone right here in the Triad.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (with Ty Pennington) is returning to North Carolina. The hit ABC fix-it show is soliciting nominations for a family to feature on a coming episode. Nominations can be made either by family members themselves or by someone in their community.

Candidates must own the property they live in and demonstrate why they are "deserving, heroic and/or a great role model for their community." You need to include the names of all the family members, why they are worthy of a new house, recent pictures of the family, and if possible, a video. The deadline is August 7th. Let’s sit down and talk: Today is the day that the Harvard professor, the arresting Cambridge officer and the President will sit down ‘face-to-face over a beer’ and talk about the ‘situation’ that happened on July 17th. Professor Henry Louis Gates was arrested after a 911 call to his own house of a possible break-in. Gates refused to cooperate with Cambridge officer James Crowley. Gates accused Crowley of racial profiling. Crowley steadfastly denies that race was a factor in the arrest. The session is set for Thursday evening, weather permitting, at a picnic table just outside Obama's Oval office. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090730/D99OKDC80.html

Don’t expect HEALTH CARE REFORM LEGISLATION TO GO UP FOR A HOUSE OR SENATE VOTE BEFORE SEPTEMBER. Blue Dog Democrats (or fiscally conservative Democrats) wanting to put off the vote until after Congress returns from its August recess. President Obama had originally wanted Congress to vote on health care reform legislation before they left Washington for the August break. http://www.pointofview.net/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=10403&news_iv_ctrl=1201

The Internal Revenue Service says it has closed an investigation into a Minnesota pastor's sermons just before the 2008 election that addressed the moral qualifications of the political candidates. The ADF says the decision by the IRS continues to, quote, "leaves churches in limbo when it comes to speaking freely from their pulpits." http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=105375

Ooh Ooh that smell? At first, fire officials in Fort Worth suspected that carbon monoxide or some other toxic fumes had sickened almost 150 people at a Bank of America Call Center. Just blame it on the ‘perfume’.

The incident started with two people complained of dizziness after a co-worker sprayed perfume. Others reported being sick when an announcement was made that anyone with similar symptoms should exit the building. Out of 150 employees that became ill (complaining of dizziness and shortness of breath) 34 people were taken to area hospitals, 12 by ambulance…An additional 110 were treated at the scene. Investigators do not know what type of perfume was sprayed. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090730/D99OEPGG0.html
