All DMV Drivers License offices in North Carolina will be closed TODAY for a system update. All DMV offices should be back up and running by 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. The closings will not affect any license plate agencies (that register and title vehicles).


Gas prices up five cents nationwide over the past two weeks.  In North Carolina, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.10.

Pastor and author John MacArthur doesn't believe the uprisings that are spreading across the Arab world will lead to the freedom that hundreds of thousands of protesters are demanding. The longtime Southern California pastor telling The Christian Post that "I just think the upshot of all of this is more instability, more chaos. Police are still searching for the driver of a fatal hit-and-run over the weekend. Fox 8 news is reporting that 18 year old Trevor Prough of Mt Airy was killed early Saturday morning along Highway 421 North near Peace Haven Road in Winston-Salem. The hit and run happened around 3:15am Saturday morning.  Fox 8 / WXII 12


A U.S. Navy warship is trailing a yacht believed to be the one that was hijacked by Somali pirates over the weekend. Four Americans are being held hostage.   RnR


Thousands of teachers, nurses, firefighters and other public sector workers have camped out at the Wisconsin Capitol, protesting Republican Gov. Scott Walker's efforts to reduce their take-home pay -- by increasing their contribution to their pension plans and health care benefits -- and restrict their collective bargaining rights. Republicans control the state Legislature, and initially it seemed certain that Walker's proposal would pass easily. But then the Democrats in the Legislature went into hiding, leaving that body one vote shy of a quorum. The Legislature was at a standstill.
