A powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake has claimed 65 lives in New Zealand.  This is the second major quake to hit Christchurch one of New Zealand’s largest cities in five months.

With anti-government demonstrations continuing in Libya, Libyan diplomats are defecting in large numbers. The death toll in Libya has risen to three hundred.

Zahra Baker’s step-mother Elisa Baker has been charged with second-degree murder. Authorities say she desecrated Zahra remains to cover up the killing.
