Making a ‘joyful noise’ has gotten this church in trouble. A church in Sanford, NC has been fined $200 dollars after violating the city's noise ordinance. The neighbor said he likes seeing the large youth turnout on Sunday, but the Tuesday night practices make way too much noise. The city of Sanford has an ordinance stating that any sound audible beyond 30 feet from an instrument is a violation. WRAL-TV

“Sacrifice” is a serious word. Tom Walter, the baseball coach at Wake Forest University, donated one of his own kidneys to one of his players (Kevin Jordan) on Monday. The procedure took place in Atlanta at Emory University Hospital. Both men should be out of the hospital within a week. Coach Walter hopes to be on a plane to Louisiana when the Demon Deacons open their baseball season against LSU on February 18th.
