WHEATLAND, Wisconsin: Having a tornado demolish her home back in January was bad enough. But weeks later when Ann Beam received a $2,000 dollar bill from her cable company for destroyed equipment.
Time Warner Cable billed a number of Wheatland, Wisconsin residents for equipment damaged in the January 7 twister. Beam's bill covered five cable boxes and five remote controls.
She immediately called the cable company…a manager said that the bill stands and Ann will have to turn the bill into my insurance company.
The insurance company said that it would pay only a depreciated value of the equipment. A Time Warner Cable spokesperson said that the incident is just a simple mistake. The rare winter tornadoes destroyed more than two dozen homes and damaged nearly 80 others in Kenosha County. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080202/D8UHTSF80.html
